About Us
Hope and Light is dedicated to helping students realize and understand their full academic potential by providing quality academic and mental health assessments and medication management at an affordable cost. At a fraction of the cost of what psychologists, psychiatrists, and prescribers charge for similar services, you will receive information on behavior issues specific to your child and guidance on how to help your child improve.
Through a variety of assessments your child’s academic performance will be measured and any struggles your child may have will be identified. Additionally, your child will be screened for any common occurring mental illness (ADHD, depression, etc.). Hope and Light will equip you with the knowledge and tools you need to advocate for your child’s needs in educational and mental health settings by going above and beyond in providing resources and support.
Hope and Light also provides medication management from the convenience of your home.
Miss a medication appointment from your regular provider and need a refill in between?

Founder/Owner
Manijeh Reynolds founded Hope and Light based on a growing need she saw in the educational system, the need for high quality, affordable testing, without the long wait. Rather than complain about this ongoing problem, Manijeh wanted to be a part of the solution so Hope and Light was born.
With 5 years of experience as a 4th grade teacher, 7 years of experience as a school counselor, 1 year of experience as an assistant principal, and 6 years of experience as a mental health therapist (in a hospital and crisis setting), Manijeh has extensive experience in both an educational and mental health settings. With this unique background, Manijeh understands the needs of teachers and mental health professionals and how to communicate the specific needs of your child. Whether you feel your child is needing an IEP, 504, or additional mental health services, Manijeh will help you understand the system(s) and assist in guiding you through the process, whatever that may be or require, in a caring, compassionate manner.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where is Hope and Light located?
Hope and Light is purely virtual. This means that all assessments and sessions are held virtually. We are licensed in Kentucky and Kansas.
How many times will you need to see me?
On average, a complete assessment takes approximately 2-3 60 minute sessions.
What can I expect?
After an intake (paperwork, talking about history, and the current issues), assessments will be given to your child virtually. It is important you are able to provide a quiet setting with minimal distractions. After the assessments are completed an additional session will be needed to discuss results, go over suggestions, and develop a plan you can use to ensure your child is receiving the services they need at school.
Why is this much cheaper than a psychiatrist or psychologist’s office?
Manijeh is a Licensed Clinical Counselor (LPCC). This means that she is licensed to give the same assessments as a psychologist or psychiatrist, with the exception of an IQ test. As a LPCC, Manijeh is also qualified to diagnose and treat individuals with mental illness.
What’s the difference between an IQ test and the WIAT?
An IQ test measures learning abilities and predicts intelligence. The WIAT measures how much someone has learned with the focus on academic skills (reading, writing, math). The WIAT looks at how well the learner is doing and compares them to others in the same age/grade. While IQ scores in general can be helpful, an IQ score alone is not enough when looking at the needs of a child and addressing behavior issues. It is important to look at all areas (academics, behavior, and mental health) before diagnosing or deciding the best course of action.
Can I get medication management through Hope and Light?
At this time, Hope and Light only provides short-term medication management. If you have a provider but missed an appointment and it will be weeks before you can be seen, we can help! If you are just now getting help for your child in need medication before seeing your new provider, we can help!
